christmas is upon us

i rarely post on this blog- since i have another blog i use more often. however i'm posting for christmas! i've found a few really great blogs on blogger and i think i have a few new recipes thanks to some of the deliciously cool people i've stumbled upon.

so the house is decorated for the holiday. light are up outside. living in the hood- well not many people have lights up, and we still have a few vacant houses on the block, but hopefully santa will find his way down our chimney and leave EP some of the things she's been asking for. (i'm almost certain he will.)

in other news bungalow living + cold weather= unwelcomed guests. there's been a little bit of scurrying up the pipes in the bathroom to the attic... NOT GOOD. but even worse is the Dali-esque black ant invasion. this happened as soon as it got cold and we turned the heat on. no ants when we have been running the AC but flipped the heat on and out they came. they're MADDENING!

other than those 2 minor malfunctions- all is good in our tiny little bungalow in the hood!

blogger

today, i went through my bookmarks, trying to pare down the ever growing list of awesomeness that clutters my computer... and i found some great blogs that i had bookmarked and never added to follow... and then was like, "oh yeah, i have one of those accounts too... duh!"

funny enough i've been in a de-clutter phase in our little bungalow too. i'm not into clutter, and rarely have a lot of clutter or chaos lurking in my home, (it's just distracting). i've had a little extra time on my hands, and so i'm "FALL CLEANING" woo-hoo!

so to play the catch up game:
EP is growing up super fast, she makes me laugh and i'm so amazed by her on a daily basis!

the pugs are still a pack of crazy 4 legged kids. i haven't been focused on sewing the past couple of months, stuff isn't selling in my ETSY store... so i've become a little disenchanted with that project.

this old house is still our little home. since the AC has been replaced, and the insulation, and the other little plumbing jobs and minor repairs- she's been cozy... still have a lot to do, and really need to get some curb appeal... but the interior is the first thing i've been concentrating on, then the repairs- then worry about what it looks like on the outside.
-new living room furniture, finally!
-EP's room was re done from the "baby pink and green secret garden theme" to a "little girl's room": a purple and green color scheme, with a little bit of a fairytale garden theme.
-new curtains in the dining room, living room and blue room
-an awesome old hutch found on craigslist for the kitchen entry way
-and odds and ends to fill up spaces (that's my cool way of saying nick nacks found at the homegoods, ross, target et all) and give the rooms a little more personality!

2009

and i feel fine.
so much has happened over the past 6 months.
as always i forget that i have this blog so it gets minimal love and attention compared to my other endeavors. and lately even they have been neglected.

i do promise however to update soon- hopefully by months end to catch up on all that's been happening with this old bungalow.

i forget you were here

well it has been forever and a year (and then some) since i've posted. we have another site that get's updated frequently, so i totally forget this was here. still i have a few minutes to post an update of sorts.
we are growing out of this old house. it's like when alice ate the mushroom and out grew the little house and got trapped. well much like that, with our growing family and the mountain of pink clothes and toys and such, we are in the market to put our little old lady up for sale and move into something larger. of course when we sell it will be bittersweet, but we really need 4 or more bedrooms and a smaller yard to maintain.
know anyone looking for a sweet bungalow with tons of charm and personality- send 'em my way. please!!

it's a girl

the pregnancy is finally over and we delivered a happy and healthy little girl, on 26 april 07.
she has all her fingers and toes and my smile and his nose. the pugs have adjusted to the new addition to our family really fast. she's pretty routine and sleeps through the night - well at least 4 hours on the night stretch- so i have no complaints!! but i do need to get a nap in sometime soon!!

happy new year!

so another year is upon us. we had a nice "low keyed" evening last night. nothing too crazy. had dinner with b&j and watched the ball drop and played some board games. already acting like a bunch of middle aged old folks. we're half way through the pregnancy and have just about 4-5 months to go, depending on how you count. she's starting top move around and it's becoming more real every day.
the pugs are doing well, still have the geez but the boy is super allergic to the cat, so who knows what's going to happen once the baby arrives. now that the new year is here, we'll be gettng the nursery ready. i'm not sure how long we'll be able to stay in our little bungalow since we'll be needing a lot more room in the years to come. the boy and i are going to combine our things into one room which should be interesting. i really have liked having my own space in the house- away from everything. it's nice. but it's a small sacrifice to having a little one. hopefully in a year or two we'll be in the position to buy a bigger house and get into something with at least 4 bed rooms ;) and more square footage...

time flies when you're...

PREGNANT! yes a little addition to our family is in the works.
we've given up 2 of the 5 pugs in order to have a little more control and sanity in the house. it was a difficult decision, but the right one nevertheless. the cats are also getting new homes, since i know they'd end up in a crib trying to snuggle, they love to sleep on our heads, so better safe than sorry, right?
the weather has been great, nice and chilly, so we've been getting some use out of the fireplace. today it looked like it was going to snw, all gray outside, but this is florida and that's not gonna happen. it has before, but from a meterlogical standpoint, it's not cold enough (yet) for that.
so there's my update... more to come later on.
